Marshmallow Roasting

Last night the girls roasted marshmallows in the fireplace with Nana, they thought this was such a treat, especially since they got to go to bed a little later than normal, and there were pink marshmallows as well as white ones!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAIGE!!!!!

Happy second birthday Paige Allison!!!! We had a wonderful day today. Paige had a birthday lunch, that was attended by Nana, Grand Dad, Auntie Sarah, Morgan, Nancy, Gill and Sara, and Mummy. We had chicken, new potato salad, green salad, bear sandwiches for the girls, pink jello, ice cream, and cake with strawberries. Very yummy and enjoyed by all! There was a princess theme, and lots of balloons, even some helium ones that Gill and Sara brought for both girls. That caused much excitement.

Here are the little ones sitting at the table waiting for the cake to come.....

But first we had to blow out the candles:

Then it was time to open some presents:

A great day was had by all!!!!

Today the girls and I went for a lovely walk down through the village, and back. We were gone for about an hour which gave Paige just enough time to have a good nap which she really needed (although would not admit it), and Morgan got to explore a bit. Still no pictures yet, but I`m working on it!!!! Also this morning the girls had a lovely time outside playing, and collecting snails, a passtime that has been enjoyed by many children over the years!!!! ;)

Safe arrival

Just a very quick entry to say that we arrived safely in England. The kids were angels on the flight, and actually slept the whole night. I will spend the next day or so recovering from my jet lag, and then I will post some pictures!!!!

Thursdays Ramblings

Not too much new here. Grandma is getting stronger every day. The kids are being real troopers going back and forth, and have been pretty good considering that they are both creatures of habit, and don't like their routines disrupted. Tomorrow is a professional day (or P.D. day as they say here in Ontario), so that means Morgan only has one more week of school before we fly!!!! The girls get quality Daddy time tomorrow, as I am taking Grandma to the hospital for bloodwork. They have her on Warfarin to make sure she doesn't develop clots in her leg, so they keep a very close watch. No new pics of the kids, but I will take some this weekend. Auntie Liane is arriving on Sunday, so there will be lots of photo ops. Well time for bed.
Miss Maggie decided that after her bath it would be a good idea to sneak outside and roll in the dirt. So much for a clean cat!!!! Posted by Hello

Morgan's School Project

The life cycle of a frog. Posted by Hello

At school, Morgan's class was studying the life cycle of the frog. This is the plastocine(sp?) model that they made.

Update

Hi all,
I haven't been posting because my dear mother-in-law broke her leg and ankle very badly this weekend. She has had surgery and came home today. She is in very good spirits, but life has been a little hectic. The girls have been absolute angels, and I have some great pictures to post from the weekend once I get a minute.
All is well in Doodlebug land though, and we are starting to count down the days until we leave for England (11 and counting....).

Yesterday afternoon, to escape the heat we were invited to Maddison's for a swim. The girls had a great time!

Paige's dance.

Yesterday it was so hot that I had to keep the kids inside all day, and they didn't go outside until after dinner. Morgan had her friend Maddison over to play with and Paige was stuck downstairs to play with Mummy. I had the radio on, and she was dancing:

This is a mini-rose bush that I rescued from Mum many years ago. It was on deaths door, and I brought it back to life and planted it in my garden. It has done really well, and is full of buds, with one that is almost ready to open. Posted by Hello

Ready, set, go......

A few nights ago, it was so hot out that I let the kids run through the sprinkler for awhile after dinner. They thought it was a hoot, and had a great time.
