For those of you who don't know, that is a bad word in our house! I just got a call from the genetics department, and Ella's apointment has been cancelled. The doctor is on medical leave and they don't know when she'll be back. We've been waiting for that appointment for 7 months so this is quite frustrating.
Not to mention the fact that I contracted pink eye, and this bloody virus that is sapping all of the energy out of the grown-ups in this house. So far Paige hasn't gotten very sick, and the baby is fine thankfully - since she is still protected by my immune system. Even Morgan is still wiped out from it; I have been having trouble getting her up in the morning, and for anyone who knows Morgan, this is not a normal thing!
Okay rant finished, I'm off to rescue the baby who is pushing herself under the playpen!

It's small comfort to know that the NHS is not the only health system where specialists get burned out (which is often the reason behind an unlimited "medical leave", and where there may be no replacement available. But it is very distressing too when one depends on the system. I trust that they will soon find a replacement appointment: maybe the thing to do is to go back to the referring doctor and get another referral in another direction.
Meanwhile, take care of yourselves there! Young families frequently become mini epidemic sites. It will pass, but it's not fun while it's happening.

On the whole, I think BOOGA#$%@ is a very MILD expression of the situation, and entirely allowable. Speedy recovery to all...and as much rest as you can manage!
